National Research Centre for Banana (ICAR)

a. Duration: 13 – 18 February 2012* (6 days) (Tentative)
b. Course Content:
Fruit Processing and Processing of Banana – An Overview (L)
Value added products from ripe banana (L)
Value added products from un-ripe (raw) banana (L)
Value added products from other parts of banana (L)
Practicals on preparation of Value Added Products viz.,
· Fig, Juice/RTS, Jam and Sweet Chutney from ripe-banana
· Chips, Sauce, Flour, Baby Food, Health drink and Soup-mix from un-ripe (raw) banana
· Pickle from flower of banana
· Candy from Centre core stem
· Fiber from pseudostem sheath of banana
c. Course Fee:
Rs. 5000/- (Rupees five thousand only)
The course fee should be paid as DD drawn in favour of “ICAR-Unit, NRCB, payable at Tiruchirapalli”
d. How to apply?
DD along with duly filled application form (see the Download) should be sent to the “Director, National Research Centre for Banana, Thayanur Post, Thogamalai Road, Tiruchirappalli – 620 102, Tamil Nadu”.
e. Boarding and Lodging:
Accommodation, breakfast and dinner are to be borne by the Trainees/Sponsor. However, working lunch, tea with snacks twice in a day will be provided by the Centre.
* Training will also be provided as separate batch on demand (sponsor) basis for minimum of 10 and maximum of 25 participants.
