Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the following temporary positions in the projects (approved for 3 years and initially for 1 year) with Dr. Chiranjib Pal, Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology -
1. ICMR, Govt. of India sponsored project entitled “The hunt for wild mushrooms of ethnic medicine systems used by different tribal populations in West Bengal: Searching the new source of antileishmanial agents with specific challenge against drug-resistant strain”
2. DBT-NER, Govt. of India sponsored project entitled “Therapeutic efficacy and Immunomodulatory potentials of medicinal plants available in North Eastern Himalayas and adjoining areas: Searching the novel lead molecules against two communicable diseases caused by Leishmania donovani and Entamoeba histolytica”
POSITION 1: Senior Research Fellow (One) - ICMR
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION: M.Sc. in any branch of Life Science with minimum two years research experience as evidenced from fellowship/ associate-ship or traineeship.
DESIRABLE: Research experience in the area of (i) Cellular immunology &/or experimental therapeutics against visceral leishmaniasis or (ii) Isolation of polysaccharide &/or protein from plant or animal tissue.
FELLOWSHIP: As per the guidelines of ICMR, Govt. of India.
AGE: Below 35 years
POSITION 2: Junior Research Fellow (One) – DBT-NER
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION: M.Sc. in Zoology/ Physiology/ Biophysics and Molecular Biology
DESIRABLE: 1. Hands on experience and fixation techniques for SEM.
2. Experience in Immunology/Parasitology with not less than 65% in PG level.
FELLOWSHIP: As per the guidelines of DBT’s Twinning Program for NER, Govt. of India.
AGE: Below 28 years (relaxable in case of SC/ST/OBC/WOMEN candidates only as per rule).
POSITION 3: Lab Attendant (One) - DBT-NER
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION: Not less than BSc (H) in Zoology/Physiology/Microbiology. Candidates having working experience in research laboratory (animal cell/ parasite/ cell line culture techniques) will be preferred.
CONSOLIDATED PAY: As per the guidelines of DBT’s Twinning Program for NER, Govt. of India.
AGE: Below 32 years (relaxable in case of SC/ST/OBC/WOMEN candidates only as per rule).
