Newborn Immune Response to Vaccines

A postdoctoral position is available to study newborn immune system. The project will specifically address why newborns respond poorly to vaccines overall. The laboratory currently focuses on the role of BAFF system molecules in the development of pediatric vaccines such meningococcal and pneumococcal vaccines. Studies will involve basic immunology, cell biology, biochemistry and molecular biology approaches.
REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates who hold a PhD or MD degree will be offered competitive salary depending on their experience. Experience in flow cytometry, cell culture, studies on immune function of lymphocytes, molecular biology, and animal studies are required.
FDA/CBER is located at the NIH campus in Bethesda, Maryland and offers an excellent environment for professional development.
