 Applications are invited upto 17.10.2011 for filling up, 3 (THREE) posts of Technical Assistant (UNRESERVED) (Group-B, Technical, Non-Gazetted) in PB-2 Pay Band of Rs. 9300-34,800 + Grade Pay Rs. 4200 as per details given below: Download Application Form

I. POST NO.1: INITIALLY AT VCRC FIELD STATION, KORAPUT (ORISSA)

II. POST NO.2: INITIALLY AT VCRC FIELD STATION, KOTTAYAM (KERALA)

 (i) EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE FOR POST 1 & 2:

 Three years Graduate Degree in Science subject Zoology/Life Sciences with 2 years experience from a Research/Academic Govt. Organization/Institute or Three years Graduate Degree in Science subject Zoology/Life Sciences with two year diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized University/Institute.

 (ii) NATURE OF DUTIES FOR POST 1 & 2:

 Vector and parasite/pathogen related field surveys including sample : collections; Laboratory processing - identification of vectors, dissection, Detection of parasite/pathogen (convention and molecular methods), bioassays; experiments related to vector parasite infection. Maintenance of field and laboratory equipments in use; Field and laboratory collected data compilation in computers.

 III POST NO.3: AT VECTOR CONTROL RESEARCH CENTRE, PUDUCHERRY

 (i) EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

 Three years Graduate Degree in Statistics with 2 years experience from a Research/Academic Govt. Organization /Institute or Three years Graduate Degree in Statistics with two years diploma in Computer Applications from a recognized University/Institute.

(ii) NATURE OF DUTIES:  Collection of data on socio-demographic and epidemiological aspects In the field, data compilation and descriptive analysis using software packages such as SPSS/STATA/ Microsoft Excel and Assist in maintenance of computer networking systems.

 IV. GENERAL CONDITIONS:

The post is temporary but likely to be continued.

AGE LIMIT: Not exceeding 30 years (Relaxable to SC/ST/OBC as per Govt. of India Rules in force). The crucial date for determining the maximum age limit is 17.10.2011 i.e. the last date for the receipt of application.

Benefits of new restructured defined Contributory Pension System are admissible as per the provision contained in the Ministry of Finance, Department of Economic Affairs (ECB & PR Division), Notification No.5/ 7/2003- ECB & PR dated 22.12.2003.

The above posts are with all India transfer liability. However, depending upon exigency of work he/she is liable to be transferred to other Field Station including VCRC headquarters, Puducherry.

Candidates working in the Long Term projects of the ICMR Institutes/Centre shall be given one time age relaxation provided they meet the essential qualifications and experience prescribed for the post.

The selection to the post will be made by Competitive test and interview.

Attested copies of certificates in proof of Date of birth, Educational Qualification (Degree Certificate along with statement of marks), Community (SC/ST/OBC) must be enclosed with the application. Separate application should be submitted for each post. Candidates working in Government Departments should send their applications through proper channel and should produce NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE at the time of appearing for the Competitive Test and Interview. SC/ST candidates called for interview will be paid Travelling Allowance second class to & fro fare by the shortest route as admissible under Rules. Incomplete and the applications received after the last date will be rejected. Since it is not possible to call all the eligible candidates to appear for the test and interview, applicants will be short listed for the competitive test based on the percentage of marks obtained by them in the prescribed Degree Examination, and based on their performance in the test, the candidates will be further shortlisted for the interview. Any canvassing by or on behalf of the candidate or bringing political or other outside influence with regard to selection shall be a disqualification and such candidates will not be entertained. The decision of the Director, VCRC shall be final in all the matters in this regard.
