DESCRIPTION
 The ideal candidate holds a PhD degree in Plant Molecular Breeding and Genetics with excellent knowledge on Association genetics and good understanding of plant molecular biology and bioinformatics. Prior experience with high throughput genotyping, germplasm diversity analysis, molecular marker identification, validation and implementation to breeding programs (MAS/MAB) is essential. Experience with statistical analysis of QTL mapping, Linkage and LD mapping is an added advantage. Good communication skills are important for this role.
SKILLS REQUIRED
·         Strong statistical skills to analyze and interpret genome wide sequence/marker data and trait associations
·         Allelic/haplotype data analysis and interpretation
·         Heterosis breeding, backcross breeding, recurrent selection, mass selection and pedigree selection
·         Nested association mapping, QTL associations and Linkage mapping
·         Genomewide SNP identification and validation
·         Array/Chip based genotyping and marker data analysis
 QUALIFICATIONS: PhD degree in Plant Molecular Breeding and Genetics with excellent knowledge on Association genetics and good understanding of plant molecular biology and bioinformatics.
