POST: Scientific Officer (Scaling-up)

ICRISAT invites applications for Scientific Officer (Scaling-up) to undertake scaling-up research in Africa to be based in Ethiopia to serve the ESA region.

Responsibilities:

• To undertake participatory development research for integrating and testing technologies in partnership with farmers
• Build network of partners, development investors and assist the country coordinator/IDC director in mobilizing the resources for scaling-up research
• Prepare reports of various trials and help the country coordinator/ IDC Director for preparing the project proposals targeting to specific countries
• To plan, conduct on-farm trials and analyze the data for writing the documents

The Person:

• MSc in Agriculture/Horticulture with excellent academic background
• At least five years of experience in scaling-up research or participatory research for development
• Excellent written and oral communication

The Reward:

This is a Nationally Recruited Staff (NRS) position with an attractive and competitive salary and benefits package payable in US dollars. The position is initially for three years, and extendable depending on performance of the incumbent, requirement for the position and availability of funds.
