Curator post for Acharya J. C. Bose Museum

Walk-in-interview will be held on Friday, 14th September, 2012, at 12.00 noon in Bose Institute,

P-1/12, CIT Scheme VII-M, Kolkata – 700 054, for one temporary position of Curator for Acharya J.

C. Bose Museum of this Institute on contract basis for a period of one (01) year. The tenure may be

extended on yearly basis subject to satisfactory performance. Interested Indian Nationals having the

following educational and other qualifications should appear before the Selection Committee with a

typed application addressed to the Registrar, Bose Institute, P-1/12, CIT Scheme VII-M, Kolkata – 700

054, giving detailed bio-date with qualification and other testimonials.

Remuneration: ` 20,000/- to ` 25,000/- p.m. (consolidated), depending upon qualification

and experience.

Essential Qualification:

A. Educational: i) Science Graduate and diploma in Museology OR Postgraduate degree in Museology from a recognized University.

B. Experience: i) Knowledge of museum technique and experience of popularizing museum services.

C. Desirable: i) About two years working experience in a reputed Science Museum including various facets of Museum related work. Use of latest IT Technique for planning and maintenance of Museum. The candidates should have interest in History of Science.

D. Duties:

i) Overall planning, supervision and maintenance of Museum.

ii) General layout of the Galleries and display of exhibits.

iii) Safe custody and security of the exhibits and Museum stores.

iv) Any other duties relating to the Museum assigned by the Authority.

Age Preferably below 40 years (relaxable as per rule).

The candidate should also bring the original mark sheets, certificates etc., at the time of interview.

No TA/DA as admissible for appearing the interview.
