Post Doctoral Fellow in Cognitive and Brain Aging and Neuroimaging at National Institute on Aging, Baltimore, MD

National Institute on Aging, Baltimore, MD
POST: Post Doctoral Fellow(Cognitive and Brain Aging and Neuroimaging)
The National Institute on Aging (NIA), a major research component of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), is recruiting postdoctoral fellows with interest in cognitive and brain aging in the Laboratory of Behavioral Neuroscience (LBN).
Since 1994, we have been performing serial structural and functional (PET-CBF) brain imaging studies of participants in the Baltimore Longitudinal Study of Aging. More recently, these studies have included PET studies of amyloid deposition in vivo. Extensive databases of medical, neuropsychological, and imaging data are available to test novel hypotheses on predictors of cognitive decline in older adults and factors that may accelerate or protect against cognitive decline and impairment (e.g., genetic, hormonal, nutritional, medication use). In addition, resources are available for the development of novel projects using structural and functional MRI methods to investigate age differences in particular cognitive domains. Our program involves extensive collaboration with the Johns Hopkins University neuroscience and imaging communities and the image processing group of Dr. Christos Davatzikos of the University of Pennsylvania.
REQUIREMENTS:
The successful candidate will have research interests in the related fields of psychology/neuroscience, experience with analysis of neuropsychological or neuroimaging data, and strong writing skills. Preference will be given to individuals with experience in functional connectivity analysis. Fellowship duration is typically 3-4 years. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in psychology/neuroscience or M.D., with less than five years of postdoctoral research experience. The position is located in Baltimore, MD, a city with a stimulating scientific and cultural environment, with proximity to the Johns Hopkins medical campus. Salary is commensurate with experience and accomplishments.
TO APPLY:
Please send curriculum vitae, a brief description of research interests, and three letters of reference to: Susan Resnick, Ph.D., Chief, Laboratory of Behavioral Neuroscience, at Susan.Resnick@nih.gov  or at Biomedical Research Center, 251 Bayview Blvd, Suite 100, Room 4B335, Baltimore, MD 21224-6825.
