OBJECTIVES OF THE WORKSHOP:

1. Introduction of biological databases and database searching.

2. To promote awareness and skills, using online and offline information retrieval using bioinformatics tools and their applications in teaching and research.

3. To provide training in bioinformatics softwares.

METHODOLOGY

The three days workshop will include theory lectures and live practical demonstrations on biological databases / resources on Internet by the experts as well as hands on sessions.

LEVEL OF PARTICIPANTS

Ph.D. and post-Ph.D. students, college and university teachers & scientists in research institutions.

Application, Course Fee and Intake The application of the candidate(s) duly filled and forwarded wherever necessary, should be sent latest by 5th February, 2012. The application form must be accompanied by registration fee through a demand draft of Rs. 750/- (without accommodation)/ Rs. 1000/- (with accommodation) in favour of "Secretary, Banasthali Vidyapith" payable at uca Bank, Banasthali/ any Bank, in Jaipur. The total number of participants is restricted to 40. No TA/DA will be paid to the participants.

VENUE

The Workshop will be conducted at Centre for Bioinformatics, Department of Bioscience & Biotechnology, Banasthali University, P.O. Banasthali Vidyapith, Rajasthan.

HOW TO REACH AT BANASTHALI

Banasthali is located 72 km from Jaipur, 8 km off on Jaipur-Kota Road. Frequent bus service is available for Banasthali University campus/ Newai from main Bus Stand (Sindhi Camp) Jaipur. Newai is 10 km from Banasthali.

Conveyance will be available at BanasthaliNewai Railway Station (WR, Jaipur-Kota Broadgauge Line). Jaipur (Sanganer) Airport is 59 km from Banasthali.
