Contemporary research in the area of biotechnology has witnessed an enormous growth in the past few decades. In order to keep abreast with the latest developments in the field of biotechnology, an extremely high level of understanding and awareness is required. The main objective of this refresher training course meant for scientists, academicians, administrators and policy makers, is to train them in specialized technologies in the area of agricultural biotechnology and molecular biology and build their capacities.
WHO CAN APPLY: Women scientists working in the Departments/Ministries of Central and State Governments,PSUs, Government Research Institutes and Central and State Universities.
THEMES: The focus will be on the following themes pertaining to
• Plant tissue culture and its applications
• Genetic modification of crops
• Molecular markers and plant breeding
• Biofuels
• Biofertilizers and sustainable agriculture
• Significance of IPR issues in biotech research
• Nanobiotechnology
• Bioinformatics
