Mouse Models of Neurodevelopmental Disorders
The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) is a major research component of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). The mission of NIMH is to transform the understanding and treatment of mental illnesses through basic and clinical research, paving the way for prevention, recovery, and cure. NIMH offers a two-five year postdoctoral fellowship at one of the premier research sites in the U.S. The 300 acre Bethesda campus of the NIH near Washington, DC houses state of the art facilities dedicated to research. Within the NIMH, the Section on Neuroadaptation and Protein Metabolism (SNPM) (Chief: C.B. Smith, PhD; http://intramural.nimh.nih.gov/snpm/index.htm ) seeks candidates for a Post Doctoral Intramural Research Training Award. The main responsibility of this position will be to study mouse models of neurodevelopmental disorders with respect to behavior, morphology, and brain protein synthesis.

REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates must have a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree and have less than five years of previous postdoctoral training. A background in neuroscience is required.
