Research Associate vacancy at ILS, Hyderabad(Last date : today 31.8.2011)

Applications are invited for the following post of Research Associate III (temporary position till the project is supported) under DBT funded research project on “Understanding the role of transcriptional co-activator binding protein PIMT in the control of hepatic gluconeogenesis”

The qualifying candidates are expected to start working within 1-2 weeks from the selecting date.

1. Research Associate III (Biology)

Research stipend: As per DBT/DST norms
Duration: The duration of the fellowship is for three years. However, the performance of the candidate will be reviewed after the completion of every year and the fellowship will be renewed only upon satisfactory performance.
Responsibilities:
                Literature search.
                Design, plan and execute experiments both independently and under the supervision of the scientist.
                Provide scientific support to the scientist in his research activities.
                Book keeping and maintenance of stocks and consumables.

Essential Qualifications:
                Doctorate (PhD/MD/MS/MDS) or equivalent degree or having 3 years of research, teaching, design and development experience after MVSc/MPharm/ME/MTech will be eligible.
                Should be willing to learn, able to multi-task and must possess skills in MS-Office.
                Should be able to think, plan and execute experiments independently.
                Should be able to guide other students in the lab when needed.

Experience: 2-4 years of research experience preferably in the areas of molecular biology and cell biology.
Preferable: Relevant research experience as evident from thesis/dissertation or post-doctoral work.
