Bose Institute, founded in 1917 by Sir Jagadis Chandra Bose, is a premier institution for basic and applied research in Physical and Biological Sciences as well as inter-disciplinary sciences. POSTS:  
Faculty Fellow (Tenure Tract) (Pay Band III : Rs. 15,600 – 39,100 with grade pay 6,600)
Assistant Professor (Pay Band III -Rs. 15,600 – 39,100 with grade pay Rs. 7,600)
Associate Professor and Professor ( Pay Band IV: Rs. 37,400 – 67,000with grade pay Rs.8,700 and Rs. 8,900, respectively) plus DA and other allowances, as admissible to the Central Government employees posted in Kolkata.

CRITERIA: We are looking for highly motivated, competent scientists of Indian Nationality with established credentials and Ph.D. in respective area (Faculty fellow), Ph.D. with at least four years’ post doctoral research experience (Assistant professor), Ph.D. with at least eight years’ post doctoral research experience including evidence of independent research (Associate Professor) and established scientists with proven credentials for independent research and leadership (Professor). While applications in all areas of research pursued at Bose Institute would be considered, preference would be given to candidates whose expertise and interest would strengthen and/or complement the ongoing programmes.

Ongoing Institutional programmes: (i) Improvement of Plants: Biotechnological, Genomic and Proteomic Approach; ((ii) Protein Structure, Function and Engineering; (iii) Bioinformatics and Computational Biology; (iv) Molecular Medicine; (v) Microbial Genomics and Infection Biology; (vi) Development of Systems Biology and (vii) Basic and Applied Problems in Physical Sciences.

The selection process would continue until all available vacancies are filled. Interested candidates should send their detailed CV, list of publications, names and addresses of at least
4 senior scientists who have agreed to serve as confidential referees, a brief description of research experience and a concise plan of the proposed research to be pursued at Bose Institute, if selected.
