LOCATION: Philippines
SPECIALIZATION/SKILLS: Excellent communication (oral
& written) skills, good technical/ scientific writing skills will be an
advantage, ability to work independently, with the minimum supervision,
excellent oral and written communication skills.
BASIC PURPOSE: Under the supervision of the
Philippine Country Coordinator, the Researcher will implement activities
related to the documentation and comparative assessment of past and current
local adaptive strategies and coping responses of local communities in
Southeast Asian watersheds.
ROLES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Synthesize available information on local adaptive strategies and coping
responses of small holder farmers in Philippine watershed
2. Assess local adaptive
strategies and coping responses of small holder farmers in target watersheds
through conduct of interview and focus group discussion
3. Assess the role of trees and
agroforestry in enhancing the resilience of small holder farmers in SE Asian
watersheds
4. Write at least two journal
articles based on the research outputs of the project
5. Design and conduct training on
appropriate agroforestry systems for climate change adaptation.
6. Assist in the preparation of
progress and final reports of the project
7. Perform all other related
duties that may be assigned from the time to time by the Country Coordinator
QUALIFICATION
REQUIREMENTS:
College degree in Environmental
Science, Natural Resource Management, Economics and related fields. Master
degree is an advantage
At least 2 years experience
