The 21st International Conference on Bear Research and Management will be hosted by the Ministry of Environment & Forests (MoEF) in association with the Wildlife Institute of India (WII), Wildlife Trust of India (WTI), International Association for Bear Research and Management (IBA) and other organizations during 26-30 November 2012 at New Delhi. The details of the conference have been provided in the conference website (http://www.indianbears.com).  Registration and abstract submissions are now open. 

The deadline for abstract submission is 15 June 2012 and for early registration is 7 July 2012.

1st International Meet On Advance Studies in Cell Signalling Network

Cell signaling is vast area involving cell growth, proliferation, development, apoptosis and homestasis as well. It is vital and fundamental research approach in the field of today’s translational research especially in biomedical research.

The main goal of the CESIN meet is to bring together the basic and clinical leading experts from India and overseas in Cell Signaling area to create serious interest in research to young scholars and scientists.

The need is basically to guide Ph.D. students of Eastern Zone of India and few students from other parts of India; properly in future direction.

OBJECTIVES:

The conference will highlight some of the promising research topic:

i) Origin and evolution of cell signaling ( prokaryote, plant, eukaryote, mitochondria, membrane, signalosome)

ii) Analysis of cell signaling (imaging, mass-spectrometry, enzymology, omics -biology, epigenetic and post-translational modification)

iii) Signaling network in medicine and personalized medicine and

iv) Modeling of signal transduction network (in silico, mathematical application, system biology).

Translational signalosome and current status of signal transduction in drug discovery and disease diagnosis will also be focused.

The major concern is the active participation of graduate scholar and young researcher, who will be interacting with experienced scientist during 3 day conference. The talks will be more elaborate(i.e. approx. 45 min to 1 hr.); so that students get more opportunity to interact with expert scientist in respective field.

If  proposal comes, we may think for morning school for 1 hr. on basic subjects area or writing style for grant or research article.

LANGUAGE:

Call for Papers

Original research papers are invited for oral / poster presentations in the conference. Abstract: Authors are invited to send the abstract, in about 1000 words in "MS- Word" and "PDF" format. The font should be "Times New Roman" and the font size should be "12". The abstract should include the scope and significance of the research findings, key words (six), methodology and conclusions as separate sub-headings. It should be in such a form that abstracting periodicals can use it without modifications. The abstract should have the Title, Name(s) of author(s) and full address for correspondance including the Name(s) of Department(s), Institution(s), Telephone no., Email address, Fax no. etc. Two hard copies should be sent to Dr. Snehasikta Swarnakar in the address for correspondance. • BASIC COURSES:

– BASICS OF FLOW CYTOMETRY (BD FACSARIA IIITM) (COURSE CODE– FLOW): A three day course on basic research Flow Cytometry for students or researchers with no/ minimal hands on experience. This course covers theory of Flow Cytometry, and its research applications. Hands on session will include routine procedure of instrument operation, quality control, data acquisition and data analysis using BD FACSDivaTM software. The data analysis will cover the concepts of color compensation, cell cycle analysis and multicolor immunophenotyping.

– MICROSCOPY AND HIGH CONTENT IMAGING (BD PATHWAY 855TM) (COURSE CODE- HCI): A three day course on Fluorescence/ Confocal Microscopy and High Content Image analysis for researchers with varied level of experience. This course encompasses theory and concepts of high content imaging and image analysis. The wet lab session will cover High Content Imaging of live and fixed cells followed by Image data acquisition, image analysis with BD Attovision softwareTM and image data analysis with BD IDE software.

• ADVANCED CYTOMETRY COURSES:

Advanced cytometry courses are designed for researchers with more than 6 months of experience with image and flow based cytometric techniques pertaining to the following topics

– NANOBIOTECHNOLOGY/ APOPTOSIS (COURSE CODE- NANO/APO): This advanced module will cover Flow cytometric Study of NP uptake by cells, study of apoptosis by flow and image based cytometry. The wet lab will include the following methods: Annexin V/ PI double staining, BrdU incorporation (TUNNEL) assay, Apoptosis associated mitochondrial membrane potential study by JC1.

– CELL SORTING (COURSE CODE- SORT): This advanced module will cover theory of flow cytometric sorting, concept of drop delay, different sorting modes and sort masks. The wet lab will include 2 way and 4 way sorting of beads and sorting of rare population of cells (Treg cells), cell sorting to 96 well plate will be demonstrated.

– CELL SIGNALING (COURSE CODE- SIGNALING): This module will cover theory of cell signaling studies by flow and image cytometry. The wet lab will include stimulation of whole blood using different stimulators and analysis of phosphorylation in T lymphocytes. For the study of phosphorylated proteins from cell lysates the BD CBA method will be used.
