The National Institute of Immunology, New Delhi, is a leading research Institute in India with a long - standing
reputation for scientific excellence. The institute is equipped with  state – of –the - art infrastructure for pursuing research in immunology and allied sciences. The Institute also imparts vigorous long - term research training leading to a Ph.D degree.  The Institute invites applications from early as well as mid-career  scientists with potential for intellectual leadership and passion for innovative research to set up independent multidisciplinary research programmes relating to the areas of (but not restricted to) immunology, virology, microbiology, structural, chemical and  systems biology to address immunological problems at the  expanding interface of modern biology. Applicants should possess a Ph.D degree or an M.D with four years relevant experience post -Ph.D/M.D. Those possessing Ph.D/M.D degrees with evidence of  leadership with about 8 years and more of R & D experience can be
considered for higher positions. Demonstrated record of scientific productivity in the form of outstanding publications in scientif ic journals of repute and/or internationally valid and productive patents  is essential. Applicants should have a commitment to excellence and willingness to collaborate in inter-disciplinary projects.
Appointments will be offered as Staff Scientists in various grades, as per the Institute’s Recruitment Rules available on the website of the Institute, which range from those  equivalent to  university positions of Senior Lecturer or Assistant Professor  upwards. Quality of the scientific productivity and capability of  independent thinking will be major factors in deciding the level of  appointment as well as the salary offered. Investigators  will be  provided shared laboratory space and adequate start  -up resources.
They are expected to generate extramural project based funding.  Accommodation of the type available in the Institute campus would also be provided.  Other benefitsas per Govt. of In dia / Institute Rules include -Dearness Allowance , House Rent Allowance (in case official accommodation is not provided), Transport Allowance,  Leave Travel Concession And National  Pension Scheme  ( defined - contribution based pension  scheme  of Govt. of India ) . Besides this, reimbursement of  Children Education  allowance,  medical  expenses and telephone facility as per rules  is   also admissible. The candidate  who is stationed abroad at the time of selection   would further  be  reimbursed, as per rules , subject to travel by Air India, single  economy class  air fare by shortest route for self only from the place of residen ce abroad to New Delhifor joining the Institute. Research Positions in Tomato Functional Genomics
Currently we have following positions available in the projects “Tomato ripening network”  and  “Interaction between proteome and metabolomic networks during tomato fruit ripening” awarded to Dr. Y. Sreelakshmi, funded by Department of Biotechnology. T
he qualifications for the positions are as follows:
1.
Research Associate1 position:
Applicants should have very good experience in gene cloning and functional
genomics approaches gene silencing, genome editing using CRISPR/CAS and/or yeast two hybrid BiFC  analyses, preferably in tomato or other crop plants and should be supported by publications. Selected candidate would be paid Rs. 38,000+30% HRA. The candidates who have submitted PhD Thesis and have research publications in plant molecular biology  are also encouraged to apply.

2  Research Associate II -1 position
Applicants should have very good experience in proteomics, preferably using
plant tissues in examining posttranslational modifications, quantitative proteomics using shotgun  approaches , basic knowledge of mass spectrometry and should be supported by publications. Selected candidate  would be paid Rs. 3 6,000+30% HRA

PhD Thesis an d have research publ ications  are also encouraged to apply.
3 . Junior research fellow  -1 position:
Applicants should have M.Sc. in any branch of Life Sciences plus 1- 2  years research experience in proteomics analyses - 2Dgel/LC - MS or M.Tech with GATE/GATE equivalent with  experience in mass spectrometry.  Candidates with M.Sc. should be qualified in NET - LS/BET.  Selected candidate  would be paid Rs. 25,000+30% HRA.

4 . Tissue culture assistant - 1 position : Applicants should have minimum one year experience in plant tissue  culture for  generating transgenic plants. M.Sc. in any branch of Life Sciences is required. Selected candidates  would be paid a consolidated pay of Rs. 13,000/ - pm.

5. . Laboratory Assistant - 1 position:
Applicants  should have minimum  3 years’ experience working in a research
lab  with a  minimum qualification of  10 th class pass  . The candidate should take care of the plants in the green house  and open field, wash glassware, maintain
lab and help the research students.
The applications for laboratory assistant without enclosed experience certificate will be rejected . Selected candidate would be paid Rs .  8000/month consolidated.

CCMB invites Application for Ph.D Program

NOTIFICATION NO. 1/2015
Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology, Hyderabad, invites applications from candidates who are bonafide Indian citizens, to pursue research in modern biology leading to a Ph. D. Degree. The projects offered for Ph.D. would be in the broad areas of Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Genomics, Developmental Biology, Nanobiology, Plant Molecular Biology, Conservation Biology, Ecology, Protein Structure and Function, Biology of Macromolecules, Biology of Infection, Epigenetics, Chromatin Biology and Bioinformatics.
Candidates who satisfy the following criteria only need apply:
  1. Candidates with a Master's degree in any branch of science or a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Pharmacy or Medicine having a valid National level fellowship (JRF/SRF of various funding agencies, e.g., CSIR, UGC, DBT, ICMR, etc.), DST-INSPIRE or any other equivalent fellowship can only apply. Valid fellowship is an absolute requirement for pursuing PhD at this Centre.
  2. Candidates qualified only for lecturer-ship in CSIR-UGC (NET) examination need not apply.
  3. Upper age limit is 28 years as on 31.05.2015 which is relaxable by 5 years as per GoI rules for SC/ST/OBC/Women/Physically Handicapped candidates.
Applications: Candidates who satisfy the above criteria may submit their applications online by 31.05.2015. Candidates selected for the written test will be intimated through email by 06.06.2015.
Written Test and Interview: The online applications will be screened and the eligible candidates will be called for written test on 22.06.2015 at CCMB, Hyderabad. Candidates qualified in the written test will have to appear for interview on 23.06.2015 and 24.06.2015. Candidates selected in the interview will be asked to stay for discussions on 25.06.2015. Travelling Allowance is not payable by CCMB and candidates have to make their own arrangements for stay, etc. at Hyderabad.
Candidates qualified in CSIR-UGC-NET or ICMR-JRF or DBT-JRF or any other equivalent fellowship such as DST-Inspire can also walk in on the day of the written test (22nd June 2015) at 8 AM into CCMB along with proof of their qualification for the respective fellowship.
Mere fulfilment of the minimum requirements stipulated in the notification would not automatically entitle a person for selection. The decision of the Centre in this regard shall be final. Canvassing in any form and/or bringing in any influence, political or otherwise, will be treated as a disqualification.
