Role purpose and primary
objective:
Microbiological phenotyping of
mutant mice generated as part of the wider Sanger Mouse Genetics Programme.
CORE
ACCOUNTABILITIES [IN APPROXIMATE ORDER OF IMPORTANCE TO ROLE PURPOSE]:
1. Conduct laboratory procedures as instructed by
supervisor, in line with SOPs to achieve scientific outcomes for use both
within and outside of the group.
2.
Collect and understand data and maintain
accurate records such that work can subsequently be followed up, reported or
interrogated.
3.
Interrogate appropriate database user interface
to collate information necessary to carry out work.
4.
Follow good housekeeping and health and safety
guidelines to ensure a clean and safe working environment referring
issues/problems to area safety supervisor and line manager.
5.
Seek clarification and answers on day to day
issues from senior staff members to ensure continuity of work.
6. Develop and envisage new ways for the work to
be more effective and efficient for smooth running and output improvement
