1) Terms and conditions: The above position is purely temporary and will be filled on contractual basis for a
period of one year from the date of joining. There is no provision of re-engagement and the selected candidates have to sign an agreement of contract service on Rs.100 non-judicial stamp paper. Agreement Form has been uploaded on DMR website.

Expertise in conduction of field experiments and acquisition, analysis, digitization and interpretation of experiment generated or secondary data sources.
Desirable: Experience of analysis of soil, water and plant samples in the laboratory, Acquisition of data from field experiments and farmers’ fields and interpretation of acquired data. Publications of research work pertaining to Irrigation water management of rice and wheat crops. Activity will be to undertake field investigations, acquisition of primary and secondary data pertaining to crop growth from the study area and subsequent digitization and analysis of data including cost benefit analysis. Use of statistical and MS spreadsheet and word processing software is also desirable. Associated activity of the SRF will be to visit the study area and the cooperating centre for data collection and subsequent analysis.

Research Associate in Genomics/Mutagenesis
At University of Hyderabad, we are having a vibrant group on Tomato Functional Genomics, which is working on TILLING (Targeting Induced Local Lesions IN Genomes), Insertional Mutagenesis, proteomics and fruit ripening in tomato. Some of the current aims of the group include using reverse genetics to isolate tomato mutants delayed in ripening, having high lycopene and folate content in tomato fruits and analysis of light and hormonal signal transduction pathways. For recent publications of the group see (Plant Physiol 156: 1424- 1438; Molecular Plant 3: 854-869; Plant Methods 6: 3; Plant Methods 5:18; Plant Signaling and Behavior 5:11.).
Currently we have following research associate position available under “Sequence-Indexed Library of Insertion Mutations in the Tomato Genome” funded by Dept of Biotechnology under supervision of Prof. R.P. Sharma, at Dept of Plant Sciences, School of Life Sciences, University of Hyderabad. The research associate would be offered fellowships of ` 22,000/- pm + HRA. The qualification for the Research Associate Position is as follows:
Research Associate: Applicants should have experience in plant functional genomics, molecular biology, mutagenesis preferably in tomato or other crop plants and application should be supported by publications. PhD in molecular biology is required.
