HOW TO APPLY

TERMS & CONDITIONS:
1. Age relaxation will be granted up to 5 years in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST and 3 years OBC categories. The positions are purely temporary on contract basis and co-terminus with the sponsored projects. Based on the performance of the candidates in the Interview, a panel of recommended candidates will be formed which may be utilized as and when the requirement arises in the similar field/area in the sponsored projects in future. Further, the above stipends are tentative and the same  will be finally decided based in the emoluments in the sponsored project. The number of vacancies is tentative and may increase/decrease.

Training Programme on Wildlife Conservation from 13-24 February, 2012
As part of the Institute’s mandate an array of training programmes are organized annually for various target groups. Most of the participants in these training programmes are in-service officers of the State Forest Departments and other line agencies. With a view to reach out to larger constituency of people having interest and enthusiasm for conservation of wildlife resources, a two-week programme is being organized from 13-24 February, 2012. The programme will include class room interactions for a week with Institute’s faculty and eminent experts on various aspects of wildlife conservation and management followed by another week in the field (Rajaji National Park, Dehradun and/or Corbett Tiger Reserve, Ramnagar) to understand the issues and challenges associated with managing flora, fauna and resource dependent human communities.
The total number of participants will be 20 and the cost will be Rs. 10,000/- participant.
Applications are invited from interested individuals who are enthusiastic and passionate about wildlife conservation and are not above 40 years of age. SELECTION PROCEDURE:
a. Candidates fulfilling minimum requirements will be invited for a written qualifying test at their own expenses on February 19, 2012 at  any  of the following four centers - Bengaluru, Delhi, Kolkata & Pune.  The Institute shall try to accommodate the choice of centers indicated by the candidate. However, in case of non-availability of a seat at the centers chosen by the candidate, the candidate shall be required to appear for the written qualifying test at the centre allotted by the Institute.
b. The written test is aimed at evaluating abilities to comprehend, analyse and reason.  Therefore, the examination is General Aptitude Test & no separate syllabus is prescribed.
c. The results of the written test along with the details of the interviews shall be available on the website of the Institute as well as on the Notice Board of the Institute on February 29, 2012.
d. Interviews will be held at National Institute of Immunology, New Delhi from June 7-10, 2012.  The Interviews will be held in two stages.   The candidates will be short-listed for the final interview based on their performance in the first interview. Final interview will be held in the last two days.
e. The selected candidates would be paid second class train fare for joining the Ph.D. programme  on providing the proof of journey.
