(A) NATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR RESEARCH IN REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH (NIRRH), MUMBAI.
The National Institute for Research in Reproductive Health, Mumbai is one of the leading research
Institute in the country working in the frontier areas of reproductive biology and contraception research.
Currently, the Institute is engaged in the different aspects of basic reproductive biology and contraception
research with special emphasis on endocrinology, immunology and neuroendocrinology. The Institute has
well equipped laboratories with sophisticated equipment and other infrastructural facilities for conducting
laboratory/clinical studies with connection to wide network of Human Reproduction Research Centres across the country. This is a senior level managerial position and the Director would be required to play the role of a team leader for different scientific groups which are engaged in the different aspects of reproduction research in formulation of research programmes/projects and organizing/co-ordinating the team work and overall management of Institute with a focus on translation & implementation research.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:
(i) Postgraduate degree in medical subjects recognized by MCI or Doctorate degree in Life/Biological
Sciences or relevant Biological subjects or equivalent from a recognized university.
(ii) Fifteen years relevant experience in reproductive health areas in Life Sciences/Applied Biology/Obst.
& Gyne./Paediatrics/Medicine/Public Health etc. in a recognized institute(s) after obtaining essential qualification as at (i) above out of which at least 5 years in a managerial position to handle R&D projects independently in a team effectively and independent management of a Division/Institute.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION:
i) Additional Post doctoral research/teaching experience in the above mentioned subjects after MD/Ph.D.
degree.
ii) Knowledge of Computer Applications
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
This is a senior level managerial position where the Director would be expected to play the role of a
team leader for co-coordinating the research programmes of different scientific groups working in the Institute on various aspects of reproductive biology and contraception research and overall management of the Institute.
AGE LIMIT:
Not exceeding 52 years. Relaxable up to 5 years for Government servants and SC/ST/OBC candidates
in accordance with the instructions issued by the Department of Personnel & Training from time to time in this regard.
GENERAL RELAXATION CLAUSE:
Age, qualification and experience will be relaxable in deserving cases as mentioned in the Recruitment Rules of Health Research Scientists Cadre of ICMR, 2007 under Rule 14 and Note:2 – The crucial date for determining the age limit shall be as per the guidelines of Department of Personnel and Training from time to time. Institute Post Doctoral Fellowship at IIT Madras
Scheme
It is proposed to offer a number of Institute PostDoctoral Fellowships (PDF) at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras. (IIT Madras). It is a temporary research position which may be offered for those who seek to choose research as a profession. The research work during the postdoctoral period can be in areas that are of interest, both to the postdoctoral fellows and the Institute.(Institute henceforth refers to IIT Madras) The presence of the postdoctoral fellows at the Institute will further enhance the research culture and output of the Institute and help promote interdisciplinary research. It is a transition phase which can also help a fresh doctorate transform into an independent researcher before taking up a research career.
ELIGIBILITY: Candidates with a Ph.D. Degree or who have submitted their theses for the Ph.D degree in appropriate disciplines and with consistently good academic record and research potential can apply for the PDF positions in any case within five years after completion of Ph.D.
A detailed research proposal has to be submitted along with the application. At least two letters of recommendation/reference from peers regarding the research capabilities and other attributes of the applicant must be submitted along with the application.
The candidates selected for the PDF will be pursuing independent research at the Institute. However, they will be attached to an appropriate Department depending on the postdoctoral research and will be associated with a faculty member of the department who will essentially perform the role of a collaborator.
Candidates who obtained their doctoral degree from IIT Madras can also apply for the PDF. However, it is desirable that such candidates if selected will be associated with a faculty member other than their Ph.D supervisor/s.
AGE LIMIT: The age limit for applicants for the PDFs will be maximum of 35 years (relaxable by 5 years for women and reserved category).
DURATION: The duration of the fellowship will be initially for a period of 2 years, extendable for a further period of one more year based on the progress of the PostDoctoral fellow and the recommendation of the Department.
FELLOWSHIP GRANT
FELLOWSHIP AMOUNT: Rs.30, 000-35,000/p.m. Consolidated
ACCOMMODATION: Suitable campus accommodation as per IIT norms if available may be provided.
CONTINGENCY GRANT: A contingency grant of Rs.1,00,000/per annum will be provided to the postdoctoral  fellow for research purposes.
MEDICAL BENEFITS / INSURANCE: On par with Ph.D. students
PERMISSION FOR CONFERENCE: Either National or International Conference can be permitted provided funds available in the contingency grant of the concerned doctoral fellow.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Apart from the research pursued by the PostDoctoral Fellow , the services of the PostDoctoral Fellow will be utilized by the department upto 6 hours per week for academic assistance in the departmental work including teaching, handling of tutorials and laboratory work.
LEAVE: The Postdoctoral Fellow will be eligible for leave with fellowship not exceeding 30 days in a year for each completed year of the fellowship. The leave can be availed on a prorate basis for the duration (on a 6 months’ basis) of the Fellowship completed.
POSTDOCTORAL PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT COMMITTEE(PAC): The performance of the postdoctoral fellow will be assessed by the Performance Assessment Committee (PAC) consisting of the Head of the Department,(HoD) or his representative as the Chairperson, the collaborator faculty member, two faculty members (need not necessarily be from the same Department) in the area of research carried out by the fellow. If the HoD happens to be the collaborator faculty member, then one of the other two members of the Committee will assume the chairperson role. The PAC will meet every year to assess the performance of the postdoctoral fellow. The candidate should present a progress report detailing the research work carried out and research findings supported by reprints/preprints/manuscripts of the papers published/accepted for publication or communicated/ research reports for this purpose.
TERMINATION: If the PostDoctoral Fellow wishes to leave the programme before the end of the tenure, he/she can do so with prior approval of the PAC giving one month’s notice. The fellowship may be terminated by the Institute if the performance/conduct of the fellow is unsatisfactory after giving one month’s notice to the PostDoctoral Fellow.

(B) NATIONAL CENTRE FOR DISEASE INFORMATICS AND RESEARCH (NCDIR), BANGALORE.
This permanent institute of ICMR has main objective of developing a national research data-base on
cancer, diabetes, CVD and stroke through recent advances in electronic information technology with a national collaborative network, so as to undertake aetiological, epidemiological, clinical and control research in these areas. The scope may expand as the centre evolves and as per the needs of the country. Information Technology that includes electronic capture of data, verification analysis and on line reporting involves extensive development of software application programmes and networking. This activity would constitute a major portion of the work to be undertaken by the centre.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:
i) Postgraduate (MD/MS or equivalent) Degree in Medicine/Surgery/Pathology/Radiotherapy/P&SM or equivalent relevant medical subjects recognized by MCI from a recognized University or equivalent.
ii) Fifteen years research/teaching experience in Medicine/relevant to Chronic diseases like diabetes, Cardiovascular & Stroke, cancer and management of data base including verification analysis and online reporting etc. in a recognized institute(s) after obtaining essential qualification as at (i) above out of which at least 5 years in a managerial position to handle R&D projects independently in a team effectively and independent management of a Division/Institute. The incumbent is expected to provide vision leadership for smooth implementation of mandate of the center.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
It is a top research management post involving multi disciplinary research using modern and recent advances in electronic information technology. It involves knowledge of medicine relevant to four major
chronic diseases to start with but may expand including aspects of patient care on one hand with  familiarity and skills in handling computer generated disease data bases and on the other to undertake research studies in epidemiology, laboratory or clinical settings. The incumbent will be expected to provide vision, high degree of coordination with super specialist physicians and ensure the overall smooth implementation of all the activeities of the centre in-keeping with the mission and specific functions of the centre. He/She will be required to provide policy inputs to Govt. of India and to interact with International experts or orgnizations. He/she should have leadership, management and administrative ability for taking overall responsibility for research and managerial functions within the framework of the ICMR system.
AGE LIMIT:

in accordance with the instructions issued by the Department of Personnel & Training from time to time in this regard.
GENERAL RELAXATION CLAUSE:
Age, qualification and experience will be relaxable in deserving cases as mentioned in the Recruitment Rules of Health Research Scientists Cadre of ICMR, 2007 under Rule 14 and Note:2 – The crucial date for determining the age limit shall be as per the guidelines of Department of Personnel and Training from time to time. However, the prescribed age may be further relaxed in exceptional cases for experienced and qualified candidates.
OTHER SERVICE CONDITIONS:
(1) Pay Band-4 Rs.37400-67000 Plus Grade Pay Rs.10000/-.
(2) Allowances as per Central Government Rules are admissible on the above pay Scale.
(3) Benefits of new restructured defined contributory Pension system are admissible as per the provision contained in the Ministry of Finance, Department of Economic Affairs (ECD & PR Division), Notification No.5/7/2003-ECD & PR dated 22.12.2003 effective from 1.1.2004.
(4) Private practice is not allowed. However, non-practicing allowance is admissible to medical graduates only as per rules.
(5) Applications from employees working in Central/State Govt. Departments/Public Sector Undertakings and Govt. funded research agencies must be forwarded through proper channel.  Advance copies of application will be considered subject to the conditions that a “No Objection Certificate” from the employer is produced at the time of personal discussion.
Application received after the closing date will not be considered. Candidates called for personal discussion/interview have the option to answer in Hindi also.

d) Crossed Indian Postal Order (IPO) for Rs.100/- (Rupees One hundred only) payable to the Director General, Indian Council of Medical Research, New Delhi. SC/ST and physically handicapped candidates (PH) are exempted from the application fee. IPOs are payable by all other candidates including ICMR employees.
(4) Unsigned/Incomplete application or application without supportive evidence asked for/without
postal order application received late are liable to be summarily rejected.
Note: Since it is not possible to call all the eligible candidates for the interview/personal discussion, the
applicants will be short-listed for this purpose. The decision of the Director General, ICMR will be final in this regard. Candidates called for interview will be paid a 1st class rail fare by the shortest route on production of documents. Any canvassing by or on behalf of the candidates or to bring political or other outside influence with regard to selection/recruitment shall be disqualification. POSITION: UGC-BSR Research Fellow
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION: Master degree in Pharmacy, with a minimum of 60% marks for General candidates (55% in case of SC/ST candidates and, 55% in case of Full-Time Sponsored candidates with a minimum of three years professional experience) at Master’s level. Candidates must have adequate proficiency in written and spoken English.
DURATION OF THE PROJECT: 3 Years
FELLOWSHIP: Rs. 14,000/- p.m. (Contingency Rs. 12,000/- p.a.)
