WALK-IN-INTERVIEW

Candidates who possess the qualification mentioned below may attend the WALK-IN INTERVIEW at Vector Control Research Centre, Puducherry on 10.07.2012 between 9.00 AM and 12.00 NOON with all original certificates, including community certificate and recent passport size photograph for one post of Technical Assistant to work under the ICMR funded project entitled “Tolerability, efficacy and operational feasibility of artesunate combination therapy (ACT) (Artesunate-sulphadoxine-Pyrimethamine): as 1st line antimalarial drug for falciparum malaria control in a tribal area of Odisha State, India” at VCRC, Puducherry and if required, the incumbent has to visit Koraput field station, Odisha for collection/ processing of samples. The selected candidate will be appointed initially for a period of six months and may be extended based on their performance and availability of funds.

1. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

 (i) ESSENTIAL                                       :    Three years Graduate Degree in life science subjects with one year diploma course in MLT from Govt. recognized Organization/ Institute / Medical College or 1 year experience in lower scale 

    (ii) DESIRABLE                                  :    (a)   M.Sc/Ph.D in Molecular biology/Biotechnology /Medical Microbiology/ Clinical pathology.

     (b)  Experience handling molecular diagnostics

2. NATURE OF DUTIES                         :   The incumbent will be required to perform molecular  techniques including isolation of DNA from malarial parasites, PCR amplification, purification, analysis of DNA sequences and molecular diagnostics.

3. CONSOLIDATED SALARY                    :    Rs.22, 120/-

4. AGE LIMIT                                          :  Not exceeding 30 years (as on the date of Walk-in-Interview). For SC/ST and OBC Candidates, relaxable as per Govt. of India rules in force.
