2012 Lilly Outstanding Thesis Awards
National Organic Symposium Trust (NOST) invites nominations for ‘2012 Eli Lilly and Company Asia Outstanding Thesis Awards’ from Ph.D. scientists who have submitted their thesis and made significant contributions in the field of medicinal chemistry, organic synthesis, computational chemistry, structural biology or analytical chemistry.
ELIGIBILITY: The candidate must be a full-time Ph.D. student who has submitted his/her Ph.D. thesis in the area of medicinal chemistry, organic synthesis, computational chemistry, structural biology or analytical chemistry from premier research institutions in India between 1 June 2011 and 31 May 2012.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
• Resume of the nominee.
• An abstract (up to 5 pages) prepared by the nominee describing his/her research. The abstract may include figures and references to provide enough information for the evaluation committee to judge the quality and impact of the thesis work without the original document.
• List of publications.
• Academic track record.
• Three letters of recommendation, one of which must be from his/her thesis advisor.
NOMINATION: By a Three-Member Committee of the corresponding Institute appointed by the Director/Head of the Institute. Two nominations to be recommended by the Director/Head of the Institute to Professor Vinod Singh, Director, IISER Bhopal, ITI Gas Rahat Building, Govindpura, Bhopal 462 023, by 31 August 2012.
FINAL SELECTION: By a Five-Member Committee selected by the Chairman, NOST Trustee. Final selection of the 10 First Prize recipients and 10 Second Prize recipients from a pool of nominees from the research institutions in India will be made by the NOST Selection Committee.
AWARDS
• First Prize recipient US$ 1500 with Lilly Plaque.
• Second Prize recipient US$ 1000 with Lilly Plaque.
AWARDS VENUE: J-NOST Conference to be held at Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, Guwahati 781 039,Assam, 15–17 December 2012.
