A walk-in interview will be held on 24.10.2011 (Monday) at 10.00 am in the Department of Animal Nutrition, Veterinary College and Research Institute (TANUVAS), Mohanur Road, Namakkal - 637 002, Tamil Nadu for filling up the positions of ICAR
POST: Senior Research Fellow (SRF)

PROJECT TITLE: "Development of climate resilient practices through nutritional, genetic and physiological strategies to enhance tolerance to heat stress in commercial and backyard poultry"
FUNDING AGENCY: National Initiative on Climate Resilient Agriculture (NICRA).
Interested and eligible candidates may attend the walk-in interview on 24.10.2011 (Monday) at 10.00 am along with prescribed application form (duly filled in), passport size photo, original & attested copies of documents related to age, qualifications, experience, etc. The eligibility norms, emoluments, terms and conditions are furnished below.
QUALIFICATION: ESSENTIAL: Master of Veterinary Science (M.V.Sc.) in Animal Nutrition /Poultry Science /Physiology/Biochemistry/Biotechnology or other related disciplines.
OR
Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/Physiology/Zoology/ Molecular Biology /Analytical Chemistry / Organic Chemistry /Life Sciences or other related disciplines.
DESIRABLE :1. Candidates with Post graduate degree in Veterinary Sciences and candidates with Ph.D., degree in the above mentioned subjects will be given preference.
2. Candidateswith OGPA of 3.5/4.0 (or) 8.0/10.0 (or) First class or equivalent gradel marks are preferred.
3. Candidates having research experience in a reputed laboratory/ institute and capable of handling of poultry, analytical equipment,computer and statistical analysis software will be added advantage.
4. The SRFs IRAs who have earlier worked in the ICAR schemes will be given preference.
EMOLUMENTS: 1. Rs. 18,000 plus HRA per month for veterinary science post graduates during 1stand 2ndyear and Rs. 20,000 plus HRA during 3rdyear as per ICAR norms
OR
2. Rs. 16,000 plus HRA per month for post graduates other than veterinary science subjects during 1stand 2ndyear and Rs. 18,000 plus HRA during 3rdyear as per ICAR norms.
AGE LIMIT: The upper age limit for SRF will be 35 years for men and 40 years for women as on date of interview
TENURE OF APPOINTMENT: The service of the persons/ fellows so engaged will automatically stand terminated with the termination of the project. The duration of the project is for three years.
PLACE OF WORK: Veterinary College and Research Institute, Namakkal- 6-37002, TN.
OTHER TERMS & CONDITIONS:
The posts are purely on temporary basis and time-bound, non-regular and on co-terminus with the scheme. The incumbents shall not claim for any regular employment in ICAR or in TANUVAS at a later date as the positions are co terminus on completion of the project. The service is liable to be terminated at any time without assigning any reasons thereof.
The SRF will have to travel for sample collection /analysis as and when required.
1. No TA/ DA will be paid for attending the interview
2. No objection certificate issued by the current employer should be brought, if the individual is employed elsewhere.
3. Experience certificates in original, if any, should be brought.
4. Canvassing in any form will render the candidate disqualified for the above said post.
5. The selected candidates will have to execute a bond for Rs. 5,000/-before joining duty along with Physical Fitness Certificate as per the university rules.
