Applications on prescribed form are invited for the following positions:-
POST: Associate Professor/Sr.Scientist & equivalent (Pay Band of 15,600-39,100 with Academic Grade Pay of 8000/-)
DISCIPLINE: Plant Pathology

LOCATION: Mountain Research Centre for Field Crops, Khudwani (AICRP-ICAR)
QUALIFICATION:
ESSENTIAL
i. Doctorate degree in the subject concerned.
ii. 07 years experience of teaching and/or research in the concerned subject, out of which 04 years should be in the rank of Assistant Professor or equivalent.
DESIRABLE
i. Research experience as evidenced by publications.
Note:-
i. Requirement of professional degree shall be deemed as essential qualification .
ii. In case of candidates who hold Post-graduate qualification in other subject/discipline but have been working in the discipline concerned, additional two years experience will be required over and above the minimum prescribed period.
GENERAL CONDITIONS
1. Allowances and provident fund : As admissible under rules.
2. Age : Not less than 20 years and more than 55 years as on 01-01-2011, Upper age limit relaxable in case of persons already in employment of the SKUAST-K.
3. Nature of appointment: Temporary with two years probation extendable as prescribed under rules.
4. In-service candidates : The in-service eligible candidates should forward their application forms through their employer. The application forms, which are not routed through proper channel, shall be summarily rejected and no correspondence and/or enquiry thereon entertained. In case of selection of in-service candidates, their services shall be regulated in accordance with the statutory provisions as are in vogue or as may come into force from time to time.
MISCELLANEOUS INSTRUCTIONS
1. Application forms can be had from the office of Registrar, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir, Shalimar -191121, Srinagar, Post Box No 262, GPO, Srinagar – 190 001 against payment of Rs.300/- (Rupees three hundred only) in the shape of Bank Draft pledged to Comptroller, Sher-e-Kashmir, University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir, Shalimar - 191 121, Srinagar payable at Srinagar. While making request for obtaining application forms by post, candidates are required to send a self addressed envelope 10” x 3” adequately stamped. Last date for issue of application forms by post is October 25, 2011 .
2. Application form(s), complete in all respects duly supported by attested copies of certificates and testimonials, should reach the office of the Registrar, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir, Shalimar, Srinagar (Post Box No 262, GPO, Srinagar – 190 001) on or before October 29, 2011, alongwith a nonrefundable application fee of Rs.500/- (Rupees five hundred only) in the shape of Bank Draft pledged to Comptroller, Sher-e-Kashmir, University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir, Shalimar - 191 121, Srinagar payable at Srinagar. Application(s) received after the prescribed date and without application fee shall not be entertained.
3. Eligible candidates will be informed about the date and venue of interview through an intimation on the address recorded by them on the application form. However, University shall not be responsible for non-receipt or delayed receipt of interview call letter by an applicant and the communication posted to the eligible candidate on the correspondence address, shall be treated to have been declared on Him/her;
4. Mere submission of application forms for the position advertised here-in-above does not by itself entitle an applicant to be called for interview;
5. The University reserves the right to make appointment either in the grade shown under the post advertised here-in-above or in lower grades, depending upon qualification / suitability of the selected candidates, and/or other reasons.
6. Candidates not fulfilling the requisite requirements prescribed here-in-above, as on the last date of receipt of application forms, need not apply;
7. Certificates in support of qualification must have been obtained from duly recognized University/Institutions or organizations/departments, as the case may be;
8. University reserves the right to withdraw the post and/or defer filling up of the post, advertised here-in-above, without assigning any reason.
09. The post advertised here-in-above shall be filled up subject to the requirement in the discipline.
10. It will be open to the University to consider names of suitable persons (who may not have applied for the post in response to this Advertisement) to consider their candidature against the post advertised here-in-above.
11. Applicants are advised to superscribe the words (in capitals) “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF……….” at the top of the envelop containing the application form.
12. Applicant should necessarily indicate his/her contact/telephone number or e-mail address and also intimate any change in the correspondence or permanent/residential address.
13. All other details can be held from the Office of Registrar, SKUAST-K, Shalimar, Srinagar, Kashmir on any working day during office hours.
14. Canvassing in any form shall render the applicant in-eligible.
