ADMISSION TO THE PHD PROGRAMME FOR THE AUTUMN SEMESTER : 2012-2013
Applications are invited for admission to the Ph.D. Programme(Regular and Sponsored categories) of the Institute in all disciplines of Engineering & Technology, Science, Architecture & Regional Planning, Humanities & Social Sciences, Law and Management. Admission to reserved-category candidates will be done as per Government of India notification. Applicants are required to apply online. Application fee is Rs. 500/- for General/OBC and Rs. 250/- for SC/ST candidates. Women candidates are exempted from the payment of application fees.
Applicants are advised to visit to concerned Department Webpage for more details about research areas and faculty . They must also read Ph.D. Regulations of the institute for ELIGIBILITY and other details .

 INSTRUCTIONS TO FILL IN ONLINE APPLICATION FORM
Please do not use any special charecter like:single quote(') while filling up the form
STEP-I : MAKE PAYMENT
In order to fill in the online application, payment of application fee has to be made apriori. The payments are made through Demand Draft only.
Demand drafts of Rs. 500/- (Rs. 250 for SC/ST category) should be made in favour of "IIT Kharagpur" on any nationalized bank payable at Kharagpur.
STEP-II : FILL IN THE ONLINE APPLICATION FORM
Register with Your Email Id and Login. FILL in the appropriate data. You will have to FILL in the payment details also(Except women candidates). Therefore, it is essential that before you fill in the online application form make sure that you have the Demand Draft as mentioned above. You must enter the Demand Draft number and the Bank name for the payment details. You have to upload your digital photograph and signature. Please make sure that you have your passport size digital photograph and digital image of your signature ready before submitting online.
STEP-III : PRINT THE ONLINE APPLICATION FORM
After freezing the online application, you will be able to generate a PDF document of the online application with your specific details/data. For this your computer must have Adobe Acrobat Reader. From the onscreen view of the PDF document that your browser projects, you must PRINT the generated PDF online application form.
STEP-IV : POST
Place the Demand Draft, printed online application form with supporting documents in an envelope and send it to :
