International Conference on Technological Challenges in Developing Affordable In-Vitro Molecular Diagnostics

International Conference on Technological Challenges in Developing Affordable In-Vitro Molecular Diagnostics
11- 14 March 2012
Navi Mumbai, India
This conference would assess our needs and priorities in the area of diagnostics and identify major hurdles in developing novel, rapid and indigenous cost effective diagnostics for the diseases prevalent in developing countries. It is also important to exchange the knowledge emerging from all the national and global research efforts directed towards making the diagnostics high-through put, rapid and sensitive.
This calls for bringing together academicians, technocrats, biotech industrial representatives and policy makers to a common platform and brainstorm the needs and strategies to develop diagnostics, which can serve the needs of both financially constrained who are looking for more affordable methods and the educated rich strata who are keen to know about their health endurances from predisposition to serious diseases.
Some of the topics which will be discussed at the meeting are (PROVISIONAL AND IS BEING EXPANDED):
·         Biomarker Discovery for Developing Novel Molecular Diagnostics (it would cover: Infectious diseases, Non-infectious diseases and Cancers);
·         Need-based Platform Technologies (it would cover: Primary health centers, Home-based, Hospitals and Point-of-care);
·         Predictive and Personalized Molecular Diagnostics;
·         Impact of Metabolomics, Proteomics, Genomics and Nanotechnology in Developing Molecular Diagnostics;
·         Impediments in Commercialization of Molecular Diagnostics; and
·         Ethical and Regulatory Issues
