ISSRF Awards

The ISSRF has instituted following awards. The applications/nominations for various awards should to addressed to the President, Indian Society for the Study of Reproduction & Fertility (ISSRF), Centre for Advanced Studies, Department of Zoology, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur – 302 004. The last date of receipt is November 30, 2011.

Founder-President Dr. T. C. Anand Kumar Memorial Oration
“Founder President Dr. T. C. Anand Kumar Memorial Oration” to be conferred to an Indian scientist for outstanding research in the area of reproductive health. The award in the form of Gold Medal and Citation, is conferred each year, during the annual conference of the ISSRF.
Dr. T. C. Anand Kumar was founder president of ISSRF, and a distinguished reproductive biologist of our country. His research contributions in this field have been widely acclaimed, both in India and outside. The award has been instituted in acknowledgement of his efforts to promote the discipline of reproductive biology in the country.
Nominations for this award are invited from distinguished scientists. Self nominations will also be considered. The research work carried out by the nominee should demonstrate novelty and/or its utility in the betterment of reproductive health. The interested scientists should provide three copies of the complete bio-data, including summary of the research work pursued and complete list of publications in the attached format. In addition, the application should also be transmitted either through e-mail at: lohiyank@gmail.com or on a disc.

Labhsetwar Award
On behalf of Drs. Anant and Lata Charitable Trust, Nagpur and Labhsetwar Foundation USA, nominations are invited by ISSRF for “Labhsetwar Award”. The award is given during the ISSRF Annual Meeting to an individual who has made outstanding contributions in the field of reproductive health. The award consists of Rs. 1,00,000 in cash,  a memento and a citation. The purpose of the award is to recognize and further encourage the research work of those who, in the opinion of the selection committee, have contributed towards the solution of India’s population problem. The work in various fields such as physiology, immunology, pharmacology, clinical and social work as well as demography is important in contributing towards solution of the population problem. Nominee should ordinarily be under 55 years of age, engaged in his/her research work and must have done distinguished work. Nomination may be made on a plain paper and should include discussion about how nominee’s work will lead to solution of the population problem
Prof. G.P. Talwar Young Scientist Award / Prof. G. P. Talwar Gold Medal for Middle Career Scientists
Padma Bhushan Prof. G. P. Talwar Young Scientist Award and Prof. G. P. Talwar Gold Medal for Middle Career Scientists have been instituted for outstanding contributions in the field of reproductive health. The recipient will be presented with a gold medal and a citation.
Applications are invited by scientists below the age of 40 years for Prof. G. P. Talwar Young Scientist Award and 50 years for Prof. G. P. Talwar Gold Medal for Middle Career Scientists in the enclosed proforma.

The Lifetime Achievement Award & The Fellowship Award
The Society confers yearly the ISSRF Lifetime Achievement Award and Fellowship Award to senior scientists in recognition of their outstanding and sustained contributions in the field of reproductive health. The award is given for the individual's excellence in research and for being a superb mentor who has helped train the next generation of exceptional scientists. The recipients are invited to attend the ISSRF Annual Meeting and receive the honour at the Awards Ceremony.
