Title of the Project: Physiological and molecular basis of senescence: Regulation of senescence by  reproductive sink intensity and abiotic stresses in wheat and Chenopodium.

Objectives of the project:

1. To characterize senescence at leaf, cellular and molecular level and study its interaction with reproductive sink strength and abiotic stresses.

2. To clone genes important for senescence and abiotic stresses which can help in modulating the rate of senescence in crops and hence help in stabilizing grain productivity in stress prone environments.

Emoluments (Fixed) per month: 14,000/- + 30 %HRA per month for I and II year

20,000 / - + 30SRF (extended i.e. on submission of PhD thesis)-Rs. 20,000/-+ 30% HRA (for 1 year only)

Essential/Desirable Qualification

Essential:

M.Sc. with specialization in Plant Physiology/Plant Biochemistry/Biotechnology.

Two years experience after M.Sc.

Desirable:

Experience in biochemical and molecular biological techniques

Terms and Conditions:

1. Age limit for SRF (extended SRF) is maximum 32 (33) years as on the day on which the application is made.

2. The total duration of project is 2 years and the positions are purely temporary on contractual basis and co-terminus with the project. The renewal of yearly contract is subjected to the satisfactory performance of SRF.

3. Candidates are required to send their biodata through post/email to the respective PI mentioned above in the table.

4. The last date for receipt of the application is 25th September 2012

5. After the primary screening, the eligible candidates will be informed through email/post to attend the interview.

6. The biodata with full particulars i.e. qualification, experience, NOC from the previous employer, publications etc. along with attested copies of the certificates must be submitted before appearing for the interview.

7. No TA/DA shall be paid to the candidates appearing for the interview.
