Walk-in for RA/SRF/JRF(Metal uptake, transport and release by mangrove plants in Sundarban wetland) at University of Calcutta, Kolkata

Interested eligible candidates are requested to appear in an Walk-in-Interview on 24.02.2012 at 1 P.M. in the office of the Head, Department of Marine Science, University of Calcutta, 35, Ballygunge Circular Road, Kolkata-700019, for selection of 1 Research Associate/SRF/JRF in the CSIR – sponsored research project entitled “Metal uptake, transport and release by mangrove plants in Sundarban wetland, India Implications for phyto-remediation and restoration” under the supervision of Professor. Santosh Kumar Sarkar, Department of Marine Science, C.U.
Tenure of the project is three years at present.
Qualifications:
(i) RA (I) - M.Sc. in Marine Science/ Zoology/Botany and must have Ph.D. Degree in the relevant subject with research experience. (Preference will be given to the candidates(s) having publications in marine pollution in peer-reviewed journals)
(ii) SRF-M.Sc. in Marine Science/ Geology/Chemistry/ Biochemistry/ Zoology/ Botany with consistently good academic record. At least two years research experience in the field of Coastal Ecology/ Coastal Pollution is essential (Preference will be given to the candidate(s) having publications Coastal Pollution
(iii) JRF – M.Sc. in Marine Science/ Chemistry/ Biochemistry/Zoology/Botany/Geology having consistently good academic record with NET (Fellowship/ Lectureship)/ valid GATE qualification.
Remunerations will be as per CSIR Sanction and also as per the norms of host Institution.
UPPER AGE LIMIT: (i) 35 years for RA (ii) 32 years for SRF (iii) 28 years for JRF as on 01-02-2012. The upper age limit may be relaxable up to 5 years in case of SC / ST / Woman candidates.
Candidates are requested to bring two complete sets of application(s), furnishing biodata on plain paper with attested copies of testimonials and the originals of all certificates at the time of interview.
No TA/DA is permissible for the purpose of interview
