POST: Special Project Scientist (Two positions)
ICRISAT seeks applications from Indian nationals for the positions of Special Project Scientist (two positions) to be based at Patancheru, Andhra Pradesh, India.
ICRISAT is a non-profit, non-political organization that conducts agricultural research for development in Asia and sub-Saharan Africa with a wide array of partners throughout the world. Covering 6.5 million square kilometers of land in 55 countries, the semi-arid tropics is home to over 2 billion people, with 650 million of these the poorest of the poor. ICRISAT and its partners help empower those living in the semi-arid tropics, especially smallholder farmers, to overcome poverty, hunger, malnutrition and a degraded environment through more efficient and profitable agriculture. ICRISAT is headquartered in Greater Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India and belongs to the Consortium of Centers supported by the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR).
THE JOB: Molecular marker data analysis, genotyping and phenotyping, QTL mapping, molecular breeding, gene expression analysis, data analysis, actively associate in writing project reports, research articles and perform other related jobs from time to time.
THE PERSON: Ph.D. in Agricultural Biotechnology/Plant Biotechnology/Life sciences/Genetics and Plant Breeding with the knowledge indicated in responsibilities. Experience in the responsibilities mentioned below would be an added advantage.
PERIOD AND REMUNERATION: An attractive all inclusive consolidated assignment fee in Indian Rupees is payable. The position is initially for a fixed-term of two years and may be extended depending on requirement, funding availability, and performance of the incumbent.
