Applications are invited for 7 (Seven) positions of Assistant Professors/Scientists and equivalent rank under Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat/ Khanapara. Interested candidates in the discipline of Agricultural Engineering/Poultry Science/ Surgery & Radiology/Vety. Clinical Medicine/Plant Breeding & Genetics/Animal Public Health may apply in prescribed format. Such application should be accompanied by an IPO of Rs.10/- at the time submission of application. The necessary details and other relevant information may also be obtained from the office of the undersigned on payment of Rs.10/- in the form of IPO in favour of Registrar, AAU, Jorhat.
The filled in application and all other supporting documents along with self addressed stamped envelope should reach the office of the Registrar, AAU, Jorhat on or before November 18, 2011

PAY SCALE : Rs.15,600/- to 39,100/- (UGC revised)
QUALIFICATION:
ESSENTIAL:
· Passed 10th and 12th standard with at least 55% marks in aggregate at both the levels.
· Passed Bachelor’s degree in relevant subject (as the case may be) with OGPA at least 6.5 in 10.00 scale or equivalent marks followed by Master’s degree in the relevant subject.
· 55% marks or an equivalent OGPA of 3.00 in 4 point scale or 7.00 in 10 point scales at the Master’s degree level from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from a foreign University.
· Qualified National Eligibility Test (NET).
DESIRABLE:
· Knowledge of rural agricultural situation in Assam.
· Knowledge of local language of Assam.
· Ph.D. in relevant field.
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:
Age limit as on 01.01.2011: 38 years (maximum). The age is relaxable by the number of full years of service rendered in AAU/ICAR/CSIR/DST/ SAUs and other Govt. Institutions up to a maximum of 5(five) years.
SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORMS:
Application form in prescribed format is to be submitted to the Registrar, AAU, Jorhat on or before November 18, 2011.
BANK DRAFT of Rs.150/- in case of general candidates and Rs.75/- in case of SC/ST candidates must accompany the application forms.
Reservation shall be as per Government of Assam Rules.
In service candidates must send their application through proper channel.
Applications received late and found incomplete will not be considered.
A self addressed stamped (worth Rs.6/- envelope size 23 cm x 10 cm should be sent along with the application form.
