WALK-IN-INTERVIEW

Walk-in-interview for appointment to the post of Research Associates under Research project entitled, “Defense genes of tiger shrimp (Penaeus monodon) with respect to bacteria (Vibrio harveyi ) and white spot virus (WSSV) infection” under the National Fund for Basic, Strategic and Frontier Application Research in Agriculture (NFBSFARA) will be held on 10^th August 2012 at the above mentioned address. The appointment will be on contractual basis and the incumbent shall not have any claim for regular appointment under ICAR. The tenure of the project is four years (1st June, 2012 and ending 31st May, 2016). However, the continuation of the Research Associate in the project will depend on his/her performance.

Post :Research Associate – Two posts

Eligibility: 1. With Doctoral degree: PhD degree in Fisheries/Animal Sciences/Life Sciences/ /Biotechnology/Microbiology/Zoology and allied fields.

2. With Master’s Degree : Master’s degree in the above disciplines with 1st Division or 60% marks or equivalent overall grade point average with at least two years of research experience as evidenced from Fellowship/Associateship/ Training/ other engagements.

Published research papers will be desirable.

Qualifications: Essential Experience in molecular biology tools such as PCR, cloning and sequence analysis, gene expression and real-time PCR and experience in crustacean cell culture techniques as evidenced through dissertation/project work/research publication.

Desirable: Working experience in live shrimp experiment Necessary computer knowledge for recording and anlysing scientific data and scientific manuscript writing experience

Selection: Method of Selection shall be done on the basis of the interview.

Emoluments Consolidated: Rs. 24000/- per month for Ph.D. holder and Rs. 23000/- per month for Master Degree holders. HRA and other benefits will be regulated as per existing norms of the ICAR. No accommodation will be provided.

Age Limit: Maximum 40 years for men and 45 years for women as on 10-08-2012(Relaxation for SC/ST/OBC as per rules).
