Rural advisors and Field assistant posts at University of Calcutta


UNIVERSITY OF CALCUTTA
Rural Advisors (# 2: One each for Orissa and Tripura respectively) and Field Assistants (# 4: Two each for Orissa and Tripura respectively) positions are available in Department of Zoology, University of Calcutta for a DEFRA, Govt. of UK - Darwin Initiative funded project: Enhancing the relationship between People and Pollinators in Eastern India.
Walk in interviews to be held in Pantha Nibas, Panchalingeswar, Orissa on 29th June, 2012 and State Guest House,Govt. of Tripura, Agartala, Tripura on 9th July, 2012.
RURAL ADVISORS
The successful candidates will advise on the strategies of intervention among the local communities respectively in Tripura and Orissa. The rural advisor will also facilitate mainstreaming of the project outcomes.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Strong background in developmental work preferably with experience in sustainable agriculture initiatives. Post graduate degree in relevant field is desirable. Knowledge of local language is essential.
FIELD ASSISTANTS
The successful candidates will assist in field work respectively in Orissa and Tripura. Knowledge of local language is essential. At least one candidate will be chosen with driving skill in each of the two states.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Capable of working under difficult conditions in a relatively isolated area for long periods.
