ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS : M.Sc Microbiology
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE IN ISOLATION AND IDENTIFICATION AND INTERACTIONS
OF MARINE / ESTUARINE BACTERIA, plankton and viruses from water and
sediments, biochemical and phylogenic identification of micro organisms,
routine subculturing and maintenance of pure cultures. Working knowledge on
computers is desirable. Knowledge of handling instruments such as PCR, gel
electrophoresis, spectrophotometer, autoclave, centrifuge, etc.
JOB REQUIREMENT :Participation in outstation fieldwork in boat /
ship for collection of marine organisms from the coasts of India. Isolation and
maintenance of microbial cultures. The candidate should assist the project
leader in preparation of reports and should be able to work independently.
