Applications from the eligible candidates are invited for the following posts on the prescribed form (alongwith detailed qualifications, experience requirements & other relevant information) obtainable from the office of Registrar, PAU, Ludhiana on any working day from 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. in cash at the counter by 04.11.2011 for posts at Sr.No.1 to 26 and 32. The application forms can also be obtained by post from the office of the Registrar, PAU, Ludhiana  by sending requisite cost of the application form in the shape of bank draft/ Indian Postal Order (IPO preferably not below the denomination of Rs.100/-) in favour of the Comptroller, PAU, Ludhiana payable at Ludhiana alongwith self addressed envelope (28x12 cms) bearing postage stamps of Rs.45/- by 25.10.2011.  The duly completed application forms for the posts at Sr.No.1 to 26 and 32 with prescribed fee (as mentioned below against each post) in the shape of Bank Draft/ Indian Postal Order (IPO preferably not below the denomination of Rs.100/-) payable at Ludhiana in favour of Comptroller, PAU, Ludhiana should reach in the office of Registrar, PAU, Ludhiana by 04.11.2011.
The application forms for the posts of Deputy Curator (Sr.No.27) and Draftsman (Sr.No.31) may be obtained from the office of Director of Research, PAU, Ludhiana on any working day from 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. in cash at the counter and can also be obtained by post by sending requisite cost of the application form in the shape of bank draft/ Indian Postal Order (IPO preferably not below the denomination of Rs.100/-) in favour of the Comptroller, PAU, Ludhiana payable at Ludhiana alongwith self addressed envelope (28x12 cms) bearing postage stamps of Rs.45/- by 25.10.2011 from the office of Director of Research. 2. To motivate faculty to write new research projects, to scrutinize the submitted research projects and to review the synopses of PG Students relating to crop improvement.
3. To compile materials for the Research Reports on crop improvement.
4. To perform such other duties as entrusted by the Director of Research from time to time.

1. Herbicide residue analysis from plant parts, soil and ground water using modern analytical methods with GLC, HPLC and GC MS biochemical studies on herbicide plant interactions and herbicide metabolites in plant and soil.
2. To teach UG/PG classes of Chemistry/Biochemistry/Agril. Chemistry.
3. Any other duty that may be assigned from time to time.

Job Responsibilities
1. Management of research farm at PAU, Ludhiana and providing irrigation cultivation and other allied facilities to all the departments of the PAU engaged in research.
2. Making correspondence with different research farms of the PAU scattered all over the Punjab State and Government Seed Agencies and organizing sale of seeds to the farmers.
3. Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
POST: Assistant Professor of Plant Pathology
i) B.Sc. (Agri.)/ B.Sc.(Forestry) at least with second division.
ii) Master’s degree in Plant Pathology with minimum OCPA of 6.50/10.00 or 65% marks.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL
i) B.Sc ( Biotech.)/B.Sc./B.Sc.(Agri.) at least with second division.
ii) Master’s degree in Biotechnology/ Molecular Biology/ Biochemistry/ Microbiology/ Genetics/ Plant Breeding & Genetics with minimum OCPA of 6.50/10.00 or 65% marks.
iii) Must have qualified National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by ASRB/ UGC/ CSIR by the date of interview.
iv) Matric level certificate of Punjabi language (if not, the candidate is required to pass the same within one year of appointment)

1) Maintenance and replication of BAC libraries.
2) BAC fingerprinting, DNA sequencing using both Sanger Sequencing method and Next Gen Sequencing approaches.
3) Genetics mapping, SNP development, Gene identification and validation through reverse genetic approaches.
4) Teaching of Molecular Genetics/ Molecular Biology course.
5) Any other duty that may be assigned from time to time.
POST: Subject Matter Specialist (Animal Science) at KVK – Three posts
i) B.VSc.& A.H./B.Sc. (Agri.) at least with second division.
ii) M.V.Sc/M.Sc. in Livestock Production & Management/ Animal Breeding/Animal Breeding & Genetics/ Animal Nutrition with minimum OCPA of 6.50/10.00 or 65% marks.
iii) Must have qualified National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by ASRB/ UGC/ CSIR by the date of interview.
iv) Must have passed Matriculation examination with Punjabi as one of the compulsory or elective subject or any other equivalent examination in Punjabi language which may be specified by the PAU.

iv) Five years research experience in the field of Insect Taxonomy/ Biosystematics.
DESIRABLE
i) Ph.D. in Life Science/Entomology with specialization in Insect Taxonomy.
ii) Research experience of work in the National Insect Museum collections.
AGE LIMIT: Age not less than 18 years and not more than 37 years as on 1.1.2011.
POST: Farm Managers at KVKs (Six posts)
i. B.Sc. (Agriculture)
ii. Knowledge of Punjabi upto Matric Standard.
iii. Age not less than 18 years and not more than 37 years as on 1.1.2011.

POST: Programme Assistant (Lab.Technician) at KVK (Two posts)
i. B.Sc. (Home Science)/ B.Sc. (Medical)/ B.V.Sc. from the recognized University.
