ROLLING ADVERTISEMENT FOR ADJUNCT FACULTY POSITION AT NBRC, HARYANA

National Brain Research Centre has been established by the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, to bring together neuroscientists to understand the complexities of the brain. On the request of, and in full consultation with the neuroscience community in India, and taking into consideration the global scenario and the current status in the country, the Department of Biotechnology decided to establish a National Brain Research Centre. Its establishment was announced on 14 November 1997 on the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, India's first Prime Minister. The Centre has been established at Manesar, located in the National Capital Region, and is about half-an-hour journey from the Gurgaon terminus being set up for the Delhi Metro. The Institute was formally dedicated to the nation by the Hon'ble President of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam on December 16, 2003.

The mandate of National Brain Research Centre (NBRC) is to be a Centre of Excellence in Brain Research with state-of-art facilities, whereby the Centre can evolve through a nation-wide network of associated institutions and generate well trained human resource. A unified, highly integrated multidisciplinary team of scientists from varying backgrounds work to pursue the objectives and address complex problems in neuroscience that are beyond the capacities of individual investigators.

National Brain Research Centre, an Institution deemed to be a University, is inviting nominations / letters of intent for positions of Adjunct Faculty from established neuroscientists. The Faculty thus appointed will be expected to spend 1 - 3 months during a year during which time the scientist will be expected to deliver a course of lectures on mutually agreed subjects. He / she will be able to interact with scientists of the Centre to develop collaborative research programs. The scientist, selected on the basis of the recommendation of an external peer-review committee, will be entitled to an honorarium as per Government / NBRC norms and will be provided local hospitality and local transport.
