POST: Junior Research Fellow
PROJECT: ‘Mass multiplication and field evaluation of tissue culture-raised plants of Gloriosa superba l., a highly prized medicinal plant, for optimum utilization’
FUNDING AGENCY: National Medicinal Plants Board (NMPB) project
DURATION: up to September 2012.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: M.Sc./B.Tech. in any branch of Biological Sciences/Technology with experience in plant tissue culture, molecular genetic and/or phyto-chemical analyses techniques.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in an area relevant to the project.
EMOLUMENTS: Rs 12,000 per month plus HRA.

Walk-in Interview
Applications are invited for purely temporary contractual positions of Junior Research Fellow (JRF-02) and Project Fellow (01) in projects sponsored by the National Medicinal Plants Board (NMPB), Department of AYUSH, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India, New Delhi and Uttarakhand State Biotechnology Department (USBD), Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of Uttarakhand.
ESSENTIAL AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: M.Sc. Life Sciences/Bio-ciences/Biotechnology/Chemistry or equivalent with good academic records.
EMOLUMENTS: (1) JRF: Rs. 12000 + HRA P.M., (2) Project Fellow: Rs. 10000 P.M. (fixed).
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in an area of medicinal and aromatic plants and willing to undertake extensive travel in Himalayan region for germplasm collection and filed level studies related to the project objectives.
PERIOD OF PROJECTS: These positions are purely temporary for 2 to 3 year duration of the projects. The selection for the post does not confer any right of regular appointment in the Centre.
