Applications are invited upto
21st July 2012 for the following posts of Technical Cadre at the ICMR’s National
Institute for Research in Tuberculosis, Chennai:
NAME OF THE POST: Technical Officer-A(Laboratory)
POST CODE: TOALB 03
NO. OF VACANCIES: 01-UR, 01-OBC, 01-ST
PAY BAND: PB-2, Rs.9300-34800 + Grade Pay Rs.4600/-
QUALIFICATIONS:
ESSENTIAL : Three
years Graduate Degree in Life Sciences with 5 years experience or Three years
Graduate Degree in Life Sciences with diploma in Medical Lab Technology from a recognized
university/ institute with 3 years experience in a Govt. recognized institute/organization
DESIRABLE: 1. M.Sc./ Ph.D. in Life Sciences
2. Knowledge of computer applications.
AGE AS ON 21.07.12: Not exceeding 35 years
NAME OF THE POST: Technical Assistant (Laboratory)
POST CODE: TALB 02
NO. OF VACANCIES: 01-UR, 01-OBC
PAY BAND: PB-2, Rs.9300-34800 + Grade Pay Rs.4200/-
QUALIFICATIONS:
ESSENTIAL : Three
years Bachelor Degree in Life Sciences from a recognized university with DMLT/certificate
of one year duration or one year experience
DESIRABLE: M.Sc. degree in Life Sciences
with experience in handling clinical samples
AGE AS ON 21.07.12: Not exceeding 30 years
NAME OF THE POST: Technician-C
POST CODE: TECC 09
NO. OF VACANCIES: 05-UR , 02-OBC, 02-SC
PAY BAND: PB-1, Rs.5200- 20200 + Grade Pay
Rs.2800/-
QUALIFICATIONS: ESSENTIAL: 10+2 with Science subjects or
equivalent from a recognized board with two years Diploma in DMLT from Govt. recognized Organizations/Institute/Medical
College.
DESIRABLE: Degree in Science froma
recognized Board.
AGE AS ON 21.07.12: Not exceeding 30 years
NAME OF THE POST: Technician-A
POST CODE: TECA 08
NO. OF VACANCIES: 05-UR, 02-OBC ,01-SC
PAY BAND: PB-1, Rs.5200-20200 +GradePayRs.1900/-
QUALIFICATIONS:
ESSENTIAL : 10+2
with Science subjects or equivalentfrom a recognized board with one year Certificate
in Lab Technology.
AGE AS ON 21.07.12: Not exceeding 28 years
Limit:
• Relaxable up to 5 years for
Government Servants and SC/ST, 3 years for OBC(Not belonging to Creamy Layer) ,
PH Candidates 10 years and also for certain other categories in accordance with
the instructions issued by the Department of Personnel and Training from time
to time in this regard.
OTHER DETAILS:
• The crucial date for
determination of age will be the last date for receipt of applications as on
21.07.2012.
• Graduation degrees should be
obtained in Govt approved (10+2+3) pattern or equivalent from a recognized
Board /University as per UGC Regulations.
• Allowances as per Central
Government Rules are admissible on the above pay band.
• Benefits of the new
restructured defined contributory Pension System are admissible as per the
provision contained in the Ministry of Finance,Department of Economic Affairs
(ECB & PR Division), Notification No.5/7/2003-ECD & PR dated 22.12.2003
effective from 01.01.2004.
• Applications from employees
working in Central/State Govt. Departments / Public Sector Undertakings and
Govt. funded research agencies must be forwarded through proper channel.
Advance copies of application will be considered subject to the conditions that
a “No Objection Certificate” from the employer is produced at the time of
personal discussion. Application received after the closing date will not be
considered.
• Application forms may be
downloaded from the websites www.icmr.nic.in, www.trc-chennai.org and duly
filled in forms in all aspects and signed by the applicant should be sent to
the Office of The Director in Charge, National Institute for Research in
Tuberculosis, No.1, Mayor Sathiyamoorthy Road, Chetput, Chennai – 600 031 on or
before the closing date along with duly attested copies of the certificates in
support of date of birth, educational qualification, experience etc and a
Demand Draft (DD) for Rs.100/- (Rupees One Hundred only) towards application
fee (non refundable) in favour of “The Director, National Institute for
Research in Tuberculosis, Chennai”.
• SC/ST and Physically
Handicapped candidates (PH) are exempted from the payment of application fee.
• ICMR employees are not exempted
from the payment of Application fees.
• The candidates applying for
more than one post should send separate application forms along with requisite
certificates and a separate DD for each post.
• Late entries /Unsigned/
incomplete applications or applications not accompanied with Demand Draft &
attested copies of supporting documents for proof of age (SSLC/HSC
certificate), educational qualifications and experience are liable to be rejected
without any intimation.
NOTE:
• Selection shall be by
competitive test & interview.
• Since it is not possible to
call all the eligible candidates for the interview/personal discussion, the
applicants may be short-listed for this purpose. The decision of the Director
in Charge, NIRT will be final in this regard.
• Any canvassing by or on behalf
of the candidates or to bring political or other outside influence with regard
to selection / recruitment shall be treated as disqualification.
• The number of vacancies
mentioned is only tentative and may vary. No enquiry in this regard will be
entertained.
• These posts are with All India
transfer liability under the Council.

• Date of test / interview /
