 Job involves touring to state project units at Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Sikkim and West Bengal
MODE OF EMPLOYMENT: As per terms of Service contract
DURATION: Initially for a period of one year, renewable based on Performance, outputs, availability of funds till project completion

SCOPE OF WORK : To work under the direct supervision of the National Project Director (NPD)/Chairman, NBA ; The Project Manager will be heading the Project Management Unit established at NBA, Chennai and will be entrusted with the day to day project execution, organizing and overseeing monitoring, review and evaluation of project activities. All decisions will be channeled by the Project Manager to the Chairman, NBA/NPD through the Secretary, NBA to meet the prevailing administrative and financial requirements of Government of India. The Project Manager will undertake overall management and implementation of project in the selected States of Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Sikkim and West Bengal.
TERMS OF REFERENCE
·         Assist the NPD in the implementation of the project in Organize the PSC, PMC and other meetings
·         Preparation of detailed work plan and budget under the guidance of the NPD
·         Support the NPD in maintaining effective communication with the relevant authorities, institutions and government departments
·         Undertake identification of consultants and experts, and supervise their performance
·         Prepare and oversee the development of Terms of Reference for Project consultants and experts
·         Manage the Project Finance.
·         Overall management of Project, ensuring that all the activities are carried out on time and within budget to achieve the stated outputs
·         Coordinate the work of all States under the guidance of the NPD.
·         Prepare progress and financial reports and timely submit to GEF/UNEP.
·         Providing information as needed to carry out any monitoring and evaluation activity as part of the GEF/UNEP’s internal guidelines
·         Provide support to the NBA and SBBs, and closely follow up of implementation of the project activities at national, state and local levels
·         Manage the day to day activities of the project
·         Any other work assigned by NPD
REPORTING
·         Prepare quarterly, six monthly and annual work plans and other reports as given in component 7
·         Prepare brief monthly updates on the project progress and draft project interim and final reports
·         Submit final technical report on the activities undertaken, lessons learned and points for withdrawal mechanism
REQUIRED EXPERTISE
ü  Advanced Degree, preferably Ph. D in Environment /Life Science/Agriculture/Forestry/ Law.
ü  8 years of proven experience in project management and implementation especially relating to biodiversity.
ü  Good communication and computer skills.
ü  Acquaintance with ABS procedures and familiarity with the provisions of Biological Diversity Act, 2002
ü  Proven experience on issues of ABS and the related field actions will be an added advantage.
AGE: between 35-45 years (both inclusive) on the closing date of application.
