Advertisement for a Research Assistant Position in the Department of Biological Sciences
Applications are invited from Indian nationals for the post of a Research Assistant for a DBT sponsored project in the Department of Biological Sciences, IISER-Kolkata. The position is initially for a period of one year and may be extended on a yearly basis for the duration of the project based on satisfactory performance. The job description, requisite qualification and experience for the position are given below:
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The candidate will work in the laboratory of Dr. Rupak Datta and will be responsible for:
1) General laboratory maintenance including work area and instruments of the laboratory.
2) Maintaining records and inventories of the laboratory and day-to-day ordering of consumables.
3) Performing routine experiments and assisting other laboratory personnel in their experiments.
4) Preparing buffers, media and other laboratory reagents.
5) Any other responsibilities for smooth functioning of the laboratory.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
Essential: Bachelors’ Degree in Science with Chemistry or biochemistry as the major subject from any recognized University.
DESIRABLE: 2-3 years experience in working in a laboratory environment and in operating and maintaining laboratory instruments.
SALARY: Consolidated salary of Rs. 12000 per month with yearly increments based on satisfactory performance.
