One Research Associate (RA) and one Senior Research Fellow (SRF) under the NAIP Sub Project entitled “Decision Support System for Enhancing Productivity in Irrigated Saline Environment using Remote Sensing, Modeling and GIS” will be recruited to work at Water Technology Centre, IARI, New Delhi – 110 012

1.      Name of the Post: Research Associate (RA) (1post)
Emoluments per month: Rs. 23000/ and as per ICAR rule
Qualifications:
Essential: Ph. D in Agricultural Engineering / Agricultural Physics/ Water Science and Technology  having B.Tech in Agricultural Engineering/ Civil Engineering with at least 60% marks and experience of using geospatial tools (OR) M. Tech/ M. Sc in Agricultural Engineering/ Agricultural Physics /Water Science and  Technology with B.Tech in Agricultural Engineering/RemoteSensing and GIS / Civil Engineering /Computer application in  Agriculture with at least 60% marks and having two years of experience in application of geospatial tools and techniques.

Desirable: Specialization in Soil and Water Conservation Engineering/ Irrigation and Drainage Engineering/ Hydrology/ Water Science and Technology/Water Resources Development and Management/ RS and GIS applications and evidenced from research work pertaining to application of geospatial tools, models and decision support systems in Irrigation water management. Skill in programming with Visual Basic/.NET/VBA languages, expertise in use of Geoinformatics and Decision
Support tools.

2. Name of the Post :Senior Research Fellow(one post)
Emoluments per month Rs. 16000/and as per ICAR rule
Essential: M.Sc in Agril. Economics/Agril. Extension with expertise of conducting experiment in farmers fields and demonstration and dissemination of technology pertaining to enhancing agricultural productivity in canal command areas and evidenced with published research work. He/She will be undertaking field investigations, acquisition of primary and secondary data pertaining to crop growth from the study area and subsequent digitization and analysis of data including cost benefit analysis.
Desirable : Use of statistical and MS spreadsheet and word processing software, knowledge in Visual Basic programming and application of geospatial tools in irrigation water management

Note: Walk in interview for the above positions will be held on 29th September 2011 at 10.00 AM in the Committee Room of the Water Technology Centre, IARI, New Delhi110012. Candidates may appear for walkin interview along with biodata, reprints of publications, thesis, reports etc., and passport size attested photos, original and attested photocopies of all certificates, mark sheets, degrees and testimonials. Terms and Conditions:
1. Maximum age limit: For RA 40 years for male, 45 years for female and for SRF 35 years for male &
40 years for female. Age relaxation of 3 years for SC/ST/OBC is applicable as per Govt. of India/ICAR Rules.
2. The RA and SRF position is purely contractual, coterminus with the project / scheme, and offered initially for a period of one year and further extendable based on satisfactory performance for the remaining period of the project. Selected candidates will not be entitled to claim for regular appointments/absorption either in this institute or in ICAR.
3. Candidates reaching after specified timing may not ordinarily be entertained.
4. Canvassing in any form will disqualify the candidature.
5. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
